Founded in 1999, the Pipes and Drums of the Chicago Police Department is a not-for-profit Police Bagpipe and Drum band.  Our mission is simple: "Honor Our Fallen" comrades, their families and friends in their time of need.  We have been privileged to participate in the honor ceremonies of our own fallen Heroes as well as Police Officers and Firefighters across the mid-west.   To see those we have honored click here.

On Friday 27 August 2010 the band played at Brother Rice's Home Opener where 3 Rice alumni who have been killed in the line of duty were honored: John Knight, Alex Valadez, and Tom Wortham.  A scholarship fund will be set up in their names   Photos here.
On Friday, 27 August 2010 band members performed at Bourbon Street at a benefit for Carlos Meneses. Officer Meneses, suffered a massive heart attack after being involved in a foot chase. He was a devoted father and a friend and is greatly missed.   Photos here.
On Wednesday, 25 August 2010 band members had the honor to perform side by side with our brothers and sisters of the CFD Pipe Band and Band of Brothers to honor WWII Veterans at Midway Airport as a part of their Honor Flight Program. Photos can be seen here.
