MONACO TRIP :: Neither music nor words can speak loud enough to describe our journey to Monaco.  From meeting with Prince Albert,  participation in Monaco IPA events, marching through the streets of Monte Carlo, playing in the Cathedral of Monaco for Princess Grace Kelly -- to marching and performing before the royal family at their palace; the stories, sounds and photos only give you a glimpse as to what the band and our families experienced.  A special thanks to our Pipe Major Danny McGuire for his diligence towards our success.  See the pictures as the come in here.

 

Five Year Anniversary :: On Saturday, 16 October 2004 the band held a five year anniversary party at 115 Bourbon St.   A grand time was had by all.  A special thanks to Mancow of Q101, Bourbon Street 115, Chicago Caledonian Pipe Band, 1st Street Band and our family, friends and co-workers for all of their support.  A special thanks to Colleen Burnette for facilitating a top notch event!!!  See some pictures from the event here.

 

Ohio Scottish Games :: On 25-27 June 04 the band headed East to compete at the Ohio Scottish Games.  The band was awarded best deportment of 24 overall bands (that means we looked really good...).  When it came to the circle we faced stiff competition from 87th Cleveland, our friends from Red Hackle and the Windsor Police.  We scored higher then Windsor...but got beat overall and placed 5th out of 9; We had a GREAT time and we'll get you next year 87th!!!  Special thanks to Jake Watson for his help.    Photos and a video of the performance can be found here.

 

Chicago Highland Games 2004 :: On 19 June 04 the band participated in our largest games yet...our hometown of Chicago.  In a field of 14 the band finished 6th.  A special note of thanks to the Shannon Rovers for switching play times to accommodate the band.  Check out some of the photographs and a video file from the games here.
 
Ft. Wayne Highland Games 2004 :: On 12 June 04 the band traveled to Ft. Wayne, Indiana to come in Grade V on behalf of the Chicago Police Department at the Highland Games.  The band took SECOND PLACE!!!  A special note of thanks to Mike Dietz, Rachel Danaher and Big-Boy for their assistance.  Check out some of the pictures from the games here.
 
Milwaukee Highland Games 2004 :: On 05 June 04 the band traveled to Milwaukee to compete in Grade V on behalf of the Chicago Police Department at a MWPBA championship supreme sanctioned games.  The band took FIRST PLACE! Gold Star Family Park Vigil:  The band was honored to have participated with the Bagpipes and Drums of the Emerald Society in the first annual Chicago Police Memorial Foundation Gold Star Park Candlelight Vigil 10 May 04.  For more information on the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation please visit their website at http://cpdmemorial.org.  Photos from the ceremony can be seen here.
 
Springfield Highland Games 2004:  The band debuted in the Midwest Pipe Band Association competition circuit the weekend of police memorial week in our State's Capital. To the the cheers of other pipe bands and spectators alike the performance surprised everyone with the ability and skill for our first time in the circle.  Overall the band placed 5th and came out with may lessons learned eager to meet the next challenge.  See some pictures here
 
Springfield Police Memorial 2004:  On 06 May 2004 the band journeyed to Springfield, IL to take part in the Illinois Police Memorial.  Sgt. Philip O'Reilly's name was added to the monument.  The band also placed Sgt. O'Reilly's headstone as part of our Chicago Police Memorial Fund.  Photos from this ceremony can be seen here.
